Hi! My name is Janelle, and I am a junior majoring in Economics with a possible double in Math or Computer Science. Coming from the Silicon Valley, technology and innovation has always been in the back of my mind. Tech has so much power: it is the present and the future. Before we know it, computer science will be a basic learning topic in elementary school. I love that WiCS can offer a place for womxn who are interested in computer science to feel more at home.
I play on Amherst’s women’s golf team and love community engagement activities. In my free time, you can see me searching for new songs on Spotify, binge-watching Netflix (many sleepless nights), playing tetris, and going on runs, especially during perfect 70 degree weather.
I look forward to seeing WiCS’s community grow closer and stronger!

Hi, my name is Grace, and I am a junior computer science and chemistry double major! Along with being co-president of WiCS, I am also involved in CACSAS and Women’s variety swimming.
As a co-vice president of WiCS, I am particularly interested in bridging the technology gap. I believe that technology can help people in so many ways, and I am dedicated to making it more accessible to everyone.

Hi there! My name is Karen Liu, and I'm currently a junior computer science major. I'm fascinated by the intersection between computer science and the visual and aural arts — the interplay of machine and human expression is something that I think has the potential to push new boundaries of discovery and creativity. For the future, I dream of becoming an artist who uses AI as my tool instead of solely oil paint and Photoshop like I do now.
Some lighter, more recreational things I enjoy in my spare time include creative writing, sci-fi podcasts, making playlists, and constantly cleaning my mysteriously entropic room. Here’s to hoping for everyone a wonderful experience in WiCS!

I am a sophomore prospective computer science, geology, and logic major at Amherst College. I am
involved in WiCS as the Events Manager and an Alumni Outreach Team member, as well as the
college’s soccer, ultimate frisbee, and Black Student Union clubs.
Previously, I have interned at Amazon
and SPS Commerce, and I enjoyed working in software development and database engineering. In the future,
I want to travel in a van and work remotely as an ethical hacker.

Hi! I’m Danica and I'm the Social Media Manager for WiCS! I’m a sophomore from NYC, majoring in Econ and maybe Compsci or Math. I'm particularly interested in game theory and its applications in development economics as well as educational investments in developing countries.
Outside of school, my interests include art museums, music, and foreign languages. In my free time, I enjoy late night drives, running, baking, and doing NYT crossword puzzles. I’m so excited for this upcoming semester with WiCS!

Hey there! My name is Sophie Laurence, I am a French-Korean sophomore from Cambridge MA. Always having been an avid player of video games, I started coding through Girls Who Code in 8th grade, and have been keeping it going ever since.
Alongside my passion for writing and my interest in government technology, I am a prospective Political and Computer Science double major, and am currently participating in WiCS as part of the Alumni Outreach Team!

Hi, I'm Tina and I'm currently a sophomore at Amherst College. I am interested in the
intersection between technology and art, but thanks to the Amherst Curriculum, I am currently exploring a much wider range of majors.
So far, being a part of WiCS allowed me to more easily connect to my female classmates in computer science, and learn first hand
from our alumni in different fields of technology. Aside from CS, I enjoy painting,
cooking ramen with my friends, watching anime, and snowboarding.
